In the Laboratory for microelectronics, Faculty of Electrical Engineering (LMFE) the important results were achieved in the field of research and development of design method for mixed signal ASICs, in the field of design methods for magnetic microsystems as well as for optical microsystems. Design team of experienced designers in Laboratory for Microelectronics, specialized in mixed signal design is developing design methodes to extend the state of the art. An important achievement of this research group is the design and realisation of the ASIC (published in ''Praezisions-Strom-messung von mA bis kA : Sensor-Chip fuer Kfz-Batteriemanagement und universelle Messaufgaben, Elektronik, 2003, project Isabella) where the noise and the offset of the front-end of the ASIC are close to one class better than the best published result (Analog Devices). In the second group of the LMFE research team the most important achievement are the patented solutions for magnetic microsystems: -Electricity measurement apparatus using Hall effect sensor having rectified bias current : patent no. US6037763 -Electricity meter having circuitry for selecting the conditioning of a power signal according to the polarity of an A.C. mains signal : patent no. US6031369 -Integrirano vezje, obsegajoče magnetne senzorje, za določanje faze krajevno periodičnega magnetnega polja : patent št. 9700148 -Integrirano vezje z magnetnimi senzorji za določanje faze krajevno periodičnega magnetnega polja : patent št. 20227 -Integrirano vezje z magnetnimi senzorji, obdanimi s testnimi tuljavicami : številka patenta SI 20294 A In the area of design and fabrication of optical microsystems (MOEMS) LMFE has attracted the attention of the international community by the paper ''Integrated optical motion detection microsystem with programmable resolution'' presented in the SPIE Conference, Santa Clara, USA. The solutions described in this paper are a contributiontothis field of research on a wider scale.
