A NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) absorption proton magnetometer was acquired by the Laboratory for magnetic measurements (LMM) at the Faculty of electrical engineering in Ljubljana. It was acquired from the Physikalisch - Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Braunschweig, Germany, under the German Slovenian collaboration program in the field of metrology (Standard system for the quantity of magnetic flux density). By that we became one of the few countries in Europe which own such an instrument (besides us only institutes PTB and NPL). In the year 2002 the LMM became an internationally recognized (ISO/IEC 17025) accredited calibration laboratory (by the German accreditation body Deutsche Kalibrierdienst - DKD and by the Slovenian accreditation - SA). All this enabled us to cooperate with similar scientific and metrological institutions throughout the world, to compare with our research achievements and to promote the global scientific development in the field. An example is the Euromet Project No. 446, with the title Intercomparison of Magnetic Flux Density by means of Field Coil Transfer Standard, which was completed in 2001. In this comparison, our lab's results placed us in the upper half of many distinguished European metrological laboratories.
