In the second half of the year 2003 the research results in the field of spatial planning were applied on eight Slovenian functional regions. Regional plans were shown on maps and described. Methodology of intersectorial coordination was applied in the zoning ordinances on the state level. The chief of the research team collaborated with the Ministry of planning and environment where research results were consumed. In the filed of land policy the availability of building land in Slovenia was researched. Data showing that land parcels for the building purposes which are offered on the market are not available. Therefore 120 local communities in Slovenia reported about available land parcels. These data were combined with other digitalised data. Following results are of mayor importance for Slovenia: - availability of building land; - land prices that are compared with the land prices abroad; - final model of the evaluation of housing stock. Important results in the field of rural planing are land reclamation together with the reneweal of rural settlements. These results have been succesfully compared with findings in Germany an Austria and prove that SLovenian approach is relevant for sustainable development. In Slovenian landscape qualities, bio-diversity, part-time farming and other specific circumstances ask for specific methodological solutions regarding rural renewal, which have been adequately worked out in the research.
