In order to catch up and achieve sucessful sustainable development, joining EU and other global integrations, Slovenia has to change the way in which it governs its society and manages its economy. It also has to change the priorities, that in the past decade have been focused on the adaptation to the macroeconomic and market norms of the EU, and the norms of global regime of openness and competitiveness under the banner ot the WTO. In the future, in order to achive sustainable development we will have to strengthen our most important development potentials, particularly knowledge and tehnological environment, we will have to modernise the economy, institutional and innovation environment and other infrastructure.
