The research work of the group was focused on the mesurements of recent crustal movements on the territiry of Slovenia. The classical terestrial methods of geodetic measurements as well as modern GPS methods were used. The local measureing regions were choosen on the bases of geological interpretation and on the base of the urban importance. Some measuring campaigns were performed on the whole territory of Slovenia and also on some parts of Croatia. The results of geodetic measurements are crucial for geologists, seismologists and others for the assessment of suitable regions for building in the choosen areas. The determination of scale, velocity and periodicity of movement is necessary in civil engineering, mining and other geo professions, where realible data and information about the stability of the points and objects are urgent. The most intense researches were related to the determination of recent crustal movements in Krško and Ljubljana regions. The research results are also fundamental for the implementation of the new state coordinate system of Slovenia. The new sistem will enable us to unify the coordinate systems of Europe important for the interoperability of GIS systems and also for navigation. These reference system is also the provenance for spatial dataquality improvement in general, which regardingthe increaseing value of space in Slovenia is urgent. The result of the research work of the group is also modern comparator for levelling rods, which is the only one in Slovenia. The comparator serves for the quality control of a part of geodetic instrumentation which is used in the daily geodetic practice. In the future also the comparator for electronic distance meters will be established.
