The results of the research programme and their significance for the development of Slovenia coincide and in some segments even exceed the statements given in the application form of the programme group "Vrednotenje konstrukcij" under point 1.5.3. The continuation presents some of the most important results of the programme group that have arisen from the programme and have contributed to the development of Slovenia. On behalf of the LAVEK laboratory the Centre for R&D evaluations (CRV) has been established. It has linked together the interests of the Slovenian companies (CIMOS Koper, SATURNUS Avtooprema Ljubljana, Atrik Ljubljana, TPV Novo mesto) with the research community. CRV has enabled the intensification of the cooperation between the industry and the Faculty of mechanical engineering in Ljubljana. A number of projects (several hundred) has been solved in CRV in the last five years. The CRV partners have long-term cooperation contracts. CRV has been one of the founders of the Automotive cluster of Slovenia ACS and is the coordinator between the ACS and the Faculty of mechanical engineering. An on-line computer connection has been established between CIMOS - Faculty of mechanical engineering, SATURNUS - Faculty of mechanical engineering, TOMOS - Faculty of mechanical engineering and TPV - Faculty of mechanical engineering. The research achievements of the programme group in the field of design evaluation have been continuously adapted and implemented in the new product development. The CRV foundation and the introduction of the LAVEK laboratory into the development of the products for industrial partners have accelerated the transition of the partners from suppliers to the development suppliers for national and foreign buyers. The knowledge transition from the faculty to industry has become a continuous process. The on-line connection between LAVEK and industry has enabled concurrent product design on more than one location as well as faster and better solutions of industry problems. The CRV foundation has contributed to the increase of the number of industrial partners that cooperate with the Faculty of mechanical engineering. The LAVEK laboratory has carried out some courses within the ACS. All the projects have been directed to the research, development, optimisation or design evaluation for Slovenian industry. The introduction of the research results to the product development has positive effects on the competitive ability of the industry. Also on behalf of this programme group, eight Slovenian companies have become development suppliers from ordinary suppliers..
