The research and development work performed contributed to durability of socio-economic, cultural and technological development and fortification of national identity. The results obtained in the research program enabled us the transfer of new methods, knowledge and procedures into Slovenian scientific, research, academic and enterprise environment. The development of instrumentation and methodology supported by research in the field of electroporation had a number of "side products" that in great part contributed to durability of socio-economic development. Among most important was the education of top skilled researchers that had very good opportunities for training in Slovenia and abroad. The program was integrated in the activates of various international projects so that under- and post-graduate students and researchers had the opportunities for training abroad in the fields of research that are not available in Slovenia. The transfer of knowledge to Slovenia was made possible by inter-exchange of students and researchers. In the research program the women scientist have equal opportunities as recommended by European commission for promoting the role of women in science. The program was carried out at the university environment and the acquired knowledge was transferred directly into pedagogic process in the higher levels of under-graduated courses. The thematic of the program was so diverse that numerous students were able to perform their bachelor, master or PhD thesis under the tutorship of researchers from the group and even secondary school students were given the opportunity to participate in the research. The participation of young people in such research program was stimulating for them. In the research program the development of high technology biomedical instrumentation such as instruments for different applications of electroporation was carried out. Suitable marketing and promotion and uninterrupted development and improvement of final products benefit the entire society. For the final success more pronounced role of Slovenian enterprises and state is expected for development and production of this kind of equipment. In the frame of European collaboration some Slovenian enterprises were integrated. The activities in the frame of the program place Slovenia side by side with developed Europe, Japan, and USA and in the future will allow Slovenia breakthrough to the top of high technology biomedical instrumentation development for clinical application of electroporation. Besides economic and social benefits, the development of high technological biomedical equipment and procedures in Slovenia, contributes to the desired recognition of Slovenia as a highly technologically developed country. The integration of the research program and the group into the international projects that include collaboration with industry contributes to this aim. The collaboration in research that is respected internationally contributes to better self-affirmation among young people that have opportunities for integration in European and bilateral projects.
