All research achievements, which are important for the science are also important for the development and competitiveness of the Slovenian textile industry. In the field of spinning, a modification of the compact spinning process has been introduced in the spinning mill of Tekstina, Ajdovščina. New knowledge in the field of spinning were also used when automated spinning line was purchased and installed in IBI, Kranj and when the weaving plant was modernized with electronic jacquards. In the field of nonwovens, we cooperated at the implementation of new technologies and development of new products in Filc, Mengeš. The investigations in the field of weaving have contributed to the construction of products with minimum weight per surface area and with required properties by implementing new technologies for processing special materials, i.e. fine monofilament threads for production of curtains in Velana, Ljubljana. We also cooperated at construction and production of fabrics and knitted interlinings from natural and synthetic materials in Zvezda, Kranj. In the filed of terry cloth, we cooperated with Svilanit, Kamnik at computer aided designing and manufacturing of terry cloth with two-level loops and at specification of methods for monitoring quality of these new types of terry cloths and products. In the field of knitting the investigations were made at production of new collections of yarns with elastane core in Inplet, Dolnje Brezovo. The results of investigations in the field of the dyestuff-surfactant and finishing agent-fibre interactions can contribute to better implementation of processes, creation of multipurpose high-grade, repellent and antimicrobial finish, establishment of optimal conditions of work, more economical use of textile auxiliary agents and, consequently, to the reduction of pollution of wastewater from finishing plants. They have a considerable effect on improvement of the quality of wet processes of processing, finishing and care of textiles as well as on their applicability properties. The results in this field have already been used in textile factories Induplati, Jarše and IBI, Kranj. Theoretical investigation of the reactive dyestuffs hydrolysis and the investigation of cellulose swelling in order to increase the degree of reactive dyestuffs exhaustion are also technologically and ecologically important. The investigations of the possibility of replacing monofunctional reactive dyestuffs with bifunctional ones in turquoise colour shades with improved resistances and increased ultraviolet protective factor belong to the field of producing ecologically less harmful products and more sophisticated products and are used in Svilanit, Kamnik. A support to applicative investigations of phenomena at high-temperature dyeing processes represent the investigations of oligomers and the establishment of the methods for reducing deposit of oligomers. These findings mean streamlining of technological processes, reduction of pollution (dust) and have an important economical effect. The achievements of more applicative nature, e.g. investigating of causes for unequal dyeings of PA/Lycra blends have been transferred to Inplet, Dolnje Brezovo and are used there.
