The main objective of the research program was to obtain and maintain the national standards system in the field of magnetic field density. Of course, such a goal is of a great importance for any country, especially for the Slovenia, which was in the middle of the EU merging process at that time. This aim means the direct connection to the global metrological system, which is unavoidable in the time of increased globalization in all fields of human activities. In the view of Slovenia becoming an EU member, it is even more important. One's national metrological standards indirectly support one's national identity. Slovenia's independence in this field increases the self-confidence of its scientists and enables them to effectively communicate with and learn from their foreign colegues. Before this research program, there was no accredited laboratory in Slovenia for the magnetic field density and, at the end of the program we can confirm that this gap was fulfilled. Another advantage is a fact that the domestic calibration service of the same or even better quality is generally cheaper than imported one, not to mention the easier and faster communication in one's native language. At the end, all this positively affects the scientific and economic development of Slovenia and its society in general.
