Our achivements, application and transfer of knowledge in local enviroment was an important contribution in the field of power and process engineering. We followed the primary goal, that Slovenia has to reduce specific use of energy per unit of product, which would result in better competitiveness of our economy. Now when Slovenia is a part of EU, it is necessary to unconditionally fulfil demands signed with Motreal protocol, obligations regarding Kyoto protocol and to harmonize technical regulations (use of fossil fuels and wood biomass, introduction of trigeneration, heat transfer in light construction elements) according to EU. For all that, our research is of exceptional importance. To improve living and working conditions, as a result of improved systems that assure higher productivity, reduced illness and higher living standard, we worked on: - quality and distribution of air in indoor spaces - district cooling systems (also in connection with trigeneration) - reliable and quality supply of energy for heating and cooling Our engineers could get methodology and software for integrated building planning which combines heat response of buildings and engineering installations on systems of trigeneration. Regulation recommendations for safe operation of tunnels are elaborated. Some solutions need additional attention and promptness at settling everything concerning patents for protection of intelectual and industrial property that was generated during development of this for market interesting products (mass flow and density meter) in Slovenia and abroad. At the moment we have enough theoretical knowledge for final development of industrial gauge. At the same time we are convinced, that our domestic industry is technologically qualified to carry out the mass production of this instrument. Knowledge that we gained working on a project was successfully turned over to young generations, which can be proved with good results in pedagogical field. Some achivements while working with this programme already enable production of energy efficient systems with all measuring and regulation equipment provided by slovenian manufacturers. Our results are multidisciplinary and as such they can be used in various fields of industry, which definitely is a step forward in efficient use of energy, enviroment protection and equal position of Slovenia in EU in the field of process engineering.
