The significance of the research project results is reflected in the following: - Expert staff working in the field of competitive and top sports were provided with an expert tool enabling them to broaden their professional work and consequently improve the quality of managing transformation processes in the selected sports. This is necessary to guarantee international competitiveness of Slovenian sports in the future as well. - The results of the research project have already been reflected in the quality of expert staff training in the fields of competitive and top sports as well as sports in schools. The quality of the training process improved in terms of new diagnostic methods and introduction of new training means and methods. - On the basis of kinematic and dynamic biomechanical analyses, electromyographic method (EMG), isokinetics and tensiometry we developed technique models in some sports to be applied in technical conditioning of athletes (athletics, alpine and Nordic skiing, handball, gymnastics, bowling, tennis). - The computer programme Sport Measurement Management System (SMMS) was applied in longitudinal monitoring of athletes' measurements. - Transformation procedures were more optimally managed and controlled to help decrease the level of contingency and other coincidental factors which is very important in sports practice - particularly in Slovenian sports where biological potential of top athletes is relatively low. - By means of the new carving technique model we contributed to the modification of skiing equipment (skis, ski bindings, ski boots). - The results of the research programme have already been integrated into the system for monitoring and control of measurements of Slovenian top athletes and applied by the Institute of Sport within the Faculty of Sport in Ljubljana. - By means of expert models we are trying to foresee as accurately as possible performance in individual sports and on this basis apply the system of initial selection of young athletes. - In co-operation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering we developed methodology for establishing players' external and internal loading by means of computer vision and applied it in the competition and training processes.
