The paper addresses the core of the conference as it deals with users' daily routines and their relations to quality time spent at work, home and leisure within one's financial frames. It discusses examples of various situations and shows that e.g. time spent in the swimming pool as well as time spent for commuting to the pool two recreational swimmers valuated differently, and that the value of and the price for time spent differ very much; swimmer two gets higher value for lower price. In the context of the project, the concepts discussed at the conference are valuable as they valuate daily routines which are the core focus of the User-centred module of the project. Indirectly the concept is valuable also for urban planning module, as it addresses development indicators for quality of living environments.

B.03 Paper at an international scientific conference
COBISS.SI-ID: 2797763The presentation entitled Participatory activities in the frame of expert study preparation for the regional spatial plan of the Ljubljana Urban Region consists of three parts: basic data about the expert study preparation, description of the types of participatory activities and conclusions on the process and results. Several types of participatory activities were implemented: interviews with representatives of 24 out of 26 municipalities which form the Ljubljana Urban Region, 6 facilitated workshops, setting up an interactive website as well as various forms of information provision for the main stakeholder groups and the general public such as presentations, lectures or regular informing via e-mail. Public participation in expert study preparation for regional spatial planning documents is not regulated by law or guidance. Assessment of the relation between resources used and responses of stakeholders which we obtained leads us to the conclusion that interviews and workshops were the most efficient and effective types of participatory activities implemented. The use of website was much lower than expected. One problem which was identified but could not be addressed adequately was a poor response in the later phases of the project of one of our main stakeholder groups: the municipalities. – Development of concepts of public participation in the User-centred module is based on experiences described in this work, and contributes to refinement and up grading of the tacit knowledge and applied approaches.
