Final Definitions of personalized medicine is still lacking. One of them says that personalized medicine refers to a medical model use the molecular profiling for tailoring the right therapeutic strategy to the righ patients at right time and/or to determine the predispossition to disease for delivery timely and targeted prevention. In postgenome period, the development of new instrumental techniques and biostatistics enable the development of ))omic(( advanced technologies. These technologies allow to analyze the whole group of chemically similar molecules like. genome, transcriptome, proteome, methabolome, epigenom, microbiom. etc. in a biological system (tissue, cell). The specialty of personalized laboratory medicine is that it is not based on only one (or few) measured concentration (diagnostic marker), but on the profile of molecules. Personalized medicine represents new medical approach to the diagnosis and therapy based on the results of ))omic(( advanced technologies. Profession of laboratory medicine is aware of its role in personalized medicine, but it will be necessary to introduce specific measures and perhaps change the organization of the profession, in particular to enhance cooperation between the various disciplines within the laboratory medicine.
