The current situation in the area of spatial planning in Slovenia was presented and, in particular, the methodology for the FDA inventory and monitoring was presented. Discussion of the definitions of derelict areas. In addition to the results and examples, measures that promote the rational use of space, "land recycling" and sustainable spatial development were specifically presented. The lecture was held at the second level of Bologna studies.

COBISS.SI-ID: 60586850With the implementation of the project, and further with the supplementary inventory of the remaining regions of Slovenia, we established a new spatial and data layer, which will be one of the most relevant in the future for ensuring sustainable spatial development. By combining various spatial data, in addition to the public viewer (link http://crp.gis.si/), we prepared a more comprehensive data layer for archiving within the framework of the national data corpus Archival of Social Science Data. The transfer of data to the ADP is in the process, available in April 2018. A contribution to increasing access to public information and greater public involvement.
F.15 Development of a new information system/databases
COBISS.SI-ID: 65700194The purpose of qualitative evaluation is to provide first and fast information on the basic characteristics of the FDA from the perspective of the possibility for reactivation. Determining the level of complexity for reactivation is one of the FDA treatment stages. After identifying and recording derelict areas in the space and planning their reactivation, based on the spatial, environmental and institutional characteristics of the FDA, their comprehensive evaluation is required, indicating which FDA has a priority for reactivation.
F.02 Acquisition of new scientific knowledge
COBISS.SI-ID: 65387106A part of the research results will be transferred directly to the study programs of geography and spatial planning. During the project implementation several mentoring and master's theses (8) were carried out under the mentorship of the members of the project from the thematic area of the project. For the diploma work Degraded areas in the Zasavska region, the candidate received a faculty Prešeren Award.
D.10 Educational activities
COBISS.SI-ID: 7885409Proper communication and education between ministries and actors of spatial and regional planning contribute significantly to integrating the content of sustainable, rational management of the land. Therefore, the preparation of materials (manual, material for regional workshops) for the implementation of six regional workshops, where we invited representatives of municipalities, was an important step towards the establishment of a long-term FDA monitoring system. The intensive dissemination, the current topic and the efforts of the Ministry for economic developement were also triggered by a large response from various media. At the time of the project, several contributions were published, an interview with the project manager, etc.
