This scientific monograph covers two surveys that are presented in two completed sections: 1. quality assurance in the hotel company; and 2. the introduction of the USALI system into the Slovenian hotel industry. The main purpose of the first study is to determine how to ensure functional quality in Slovenian tourist organizations, and to make a proposal for the further development of functional quality in tourism. Therefore, in the first part we first present the theoretical basics of quality and quality of services, the basic theoretical characteristics of quality assurance in the hotel, and on the example of good practice in the Slovenian hotel we show the method of quality assurance and the results of this work. The second study provides a brief analysis of the economic performance of tourism and hotels in Slovenia, as well as a pilot project of interviews with the management of selected hotels, which we assumed to be using and / are introducing USALI, and proposals for measures for a wider implementation of USALI among hotels in Slovenia. Without the USALI methodology, without the basic data for comparison, the competitive business of Slovenian hotels is prevented. It is even harder to do optimal business and invest in quality programs without comparable business data.
