The monograph about the Maribor Art Gallery is a first attemp to reflect upon the architecture and furnishings of the buildings, which compose the gallery. Supported by architectural plans and archival sources the study presents the buildings from the medieval times till the Mid-18th century, when hier was a free house of the Benedictine monastery St. Paul, as well as the architectural changes in the second half of the 18th century, when hier was a monastery of the Celestine nuns. A special attention was given to the changes of the usage of interiors in the 19th century, above all the changes of the church in a storage, factory and later great hall of the Palais of baron Hermann of Goedel-Lannoy.

COBISS.SI-ID: 21719816Regardless of all phenomena of globalization and all harmonization efforts within the framework of European history and culture policy, strong national narratives often dominate the history of cultural property transfer. Against this background, the international and interdisciplinary workshop tried to develop a consensus basis for a scholarly approach to historical cultural property transfer. The participating experts are based in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Germany. The Alpe Adria region is an exemplary case to study, also since its specific conflict history and its peculiar history of translocations have not yet been investigated in greater detail.
