COBISS.SI-ID: 283453440The monograph on Villa Bled was published in a series of paperbacks, aimed at the general public. The series is edited by B. Murovec. In 2015 monographs on the Maribor Synagogue (Janez and Anja Premk) and the Maribor Art Gallery in the Palace Goedel-Lannoy (Polona Vidmar) were published as part of the same series. In the monograph on Villa Bled the author Katarina Mohar focuses on the history of the building, which she tracks through the changes of its ownership, the various titles, architectural renovations, as well as social and political shifts. She aims particular attention to the period after the 2nd World War, when the villa – then used by Josip Broz – Tito as a summer residence and space of state representation – gained its current appearance after partial reconstruction and renovation. The Villa’s architecture and artistic decoration are thoroughly explored based on available archival sources, scientific and professional literature, periodicals, and personal testaments of individuals who helped shape the Villa's appearance.
F.27 Contribution to preserving/protecting natural and cultural heritage
COBISS.SI-ID: 288008192Regardless of all phenomena of globalization and all harmonization efforts within the framework of European history and culture policy, strong national narratives often dominate the history of cultural property transfer. Against this background, the international and interdisciplinary workshop tried to develop a consensus basis for a scholarly approach to historical cultural property transfer. The participating experts are based in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Germany. The Alpe Adria region is an exemplary case to study, also since its specific conflict history and its peculiar history of translocations have not yet been investigated in greater detail.

The monograph by three authors was published within the framework of the well received exhibition with the same title in Brežice Castle (21 April 2016 - 16 April 2017). It is dedicated to Ignaz Maria I. Count of Attems, one of the most important art commissioners, builders and patrons of the arts in modern age Styria. In the publication and at the exhibition, B. Murovec presented ceiling paintings in Attems' town and country residences and put them in context of crucial contemporary artworks in Rome and Paris as well as in the context of their commissioners. In the great hall of Brežice castle the commissioner presented himself to his guests with generosity; the personifications were partly painted after graphic series Le Cabinet des Beaux Arts by Charles Perrault (Paris, 1690). The paintings of Brežice great hall were also put in context of Attems' construction of family iconography. After he presented himself as great patron of the arts in Štatenberk, Brežice and partly in the Graz town palace, in the second phase he emphasized Hercules' and his own journey to Olympus in his town palace in Graz, Slovenska Bistrica and Gösting.

COBISS.SI-ID: 86606849The second international scientific conference-workshop of the European project “Women's Creativity since the Modern Movement – MoMoWo” (CREATIVE EUROPE, Culture sub-programme), held between 3rd and 5th October at ZRC SAZU in Ljubljana (https://arthist.net/archive/12235). Two members of the programme team - Helena Seražin and Barbara Vodopivec - took part in the »Women designers, craftswomen, architects and engineers between 1946 and 1966« conference and presented the papers: SERAŽIN, Helena: First generations of women in architecture and design at University of Ljubljana [COBISS.SI-ID 40412205]; VODOPIVEC, Barbara: Exploring female contribution to Slovenian conservation in the 1950s and 1960s: case study of Cistercian Abbey of Kostanjevica na Krki reconstruction [COBISS.SI-ID 40412461]. The conference was aimed mostly towards the professional public and encouraged research of the thus far entirely overlooked topic of women active in the fields of architecture, engineering and design, which are generally considered to be male disciplines. The papers presented at the conference will be published in English as part of an electronic scientific monograph, which will be openly accessible to the professional and general public on-line. It will be edited by Helena Seražin and Katarina Mohar. The event was presented to the general public in the television programme “8. dan,” which aired on RTV SLO1 http://www.momowo.eu/rtv4-2nd-historical-workshop/ 6.10.2016. To coincide with the conference an exhibition was also organized SERAŽIN, Helena.
