A paper presented at the scholarly meeting The Baroque church of the Teutonic order in Ljubljana: at the 300th anniversary of its inauguration is a result of a thorough analysis of the preserved printed libretto and its re-evaluation in the context of the music performance on the occasion of the consecration of the newly built church of the Teutonic order in Ljubljana. The members of the then leading music society the Academia philharmonicorum labacensium then performed the oratorio Patientia victrix by its leading member Johann Berthold von Höffer. The music is lost but the extant text provides enough information to establish some facts; that it was based on biblical story of Job and it was composed in two parts. The text closely follows an earlier libretto printed to a Venetian performance in 1694. The performance of this libretto in Ljubljana was most probably not only intended to celebrate the consecration of the church but also to commemorate the deeds of the commander count Guidobald Stahremberg.
