On the 2nd of June 2016, the Institute of Criminology at the Faculty of Law together with the Association for Criminal Law and Criminology of Slovenia organized a conference entitled »Building a new prison: proposals and concerns«. Dr. Petrovec and dr. Ambrož, two members of the research group were also among the experts that addressed the issue of the construction of a new prison in the round table. An expert discussion followed. The debate was a success as it influenced the government's decisionmaking in regards to several aspects of the proposed new prison. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, the General Manager of the Slovenian office for penitentiary sanctions, deputy ombudswoman as well as the Ig and Ljubljana prison directors were amongst the guests.

The book also features an in-depth and critical presentation of the topics related to Slovenia. It is the first extensive and comprehensive academic book on Criminology in Slovenia. The book won the authors (among whom four members of the research team - Renata Salecl, Katja Šugman Stubbs, Matjaž Jager and Mojca M. Plesničar) the Slovenian Research Agency Excellent in science award for an excellent accomplishment in social sciences.
C.02 Editorial board of a national monograph
COBISS.SI-ID: 280033536Renata Salecl, who participated as a regular visiting professor at the School of Law (Birkbeck College, University of London) and at the Women Studies Program (Duke University, USA) and conducted a summer school at the University of Cornell in 2016 held an intensive seminar on the topic of secrets in the surveillance era with Professor Bernard Harcourtom from Columbia University, New York.
B.04 Guest lecture

Furthermore, she was a co-organizer of a two day conference titled "The laws of fashion: dress between transgression and compliance" that took place at Cordozo School of Law in New York. There she also lectured on the topic of "Crimes of fashion". She furthermore conducted a summer school at the University of Cornell in 2016.
