Our recursive dynamic general equilibrium model was used as a professional basis for the following: the tax reform, the reform of the social transfer system, the possible changes in income tax legislation, the measures to mitigate consequences of the financial crisis, the proposed measures in the field of excise duties and the assessment of complex short-term consequences of the ten proposed measures in the area relating to state budget revenues and expenditures. Using the dynamic model of general equilibrium with overlapping generations (OLG model) with endogenous growth, we studied the impact of education and R & D as the most important endogenous factors on economic growth. The model was presented to the client (Ministry of Finance) and was also put into use.

COBISS.SI-ID: 258442240Microsimulation models are one important type of policy analysis tool. With data from individual records, a microsimulation model simulates how the records change over time and as a result of a proposed policy. Modified versions of the static microsimulation model of taxes and social transfers have been developed and regularly used as expert basis for the following: reform of the social transfer system, assessing the consequences of the tax base extension for social contributions and setting a ceiling, assessing the consequences of adding new income tax brackets and raising the income tax rate, the consequences of the cancellation of voluntary supplementary health insurance and the appropriate adjustment of compulsory health insurance. The microsimulation model for corporate income tax examined the impact of tax incentives on the investment activity of Slovenian companies. A dynamic microsimulation pension model with static ageing that combines five independent models was used to prepare and evaluate the consequences of the pension system reform introduced in 2013 and preparation of White book on pensions. The model is regularly used in the preparation of the Annual Stability Program (Ministry of finance) and the Pension System Report for the needs of the European Commission's Aging Group (AWG). Analyses made with different versions of the modeling tool were presented to the clients and the general public at special workshops, in the form of scientific or professional monographs, official government materials, domestic and international scientific conferences and articles.

Transfer of new know-how to direct users referring to development of the Household sustainable consumption index (HSCI) was recorded with videos in published in media. HSCI is based on existing data of reputable institutions. HSCI is a composite index developed in line with statistical principles. It has important policy implications since indices are a very useful tool for public communication in conveying information on countries’ performance. Appropriate metrics reduce uncertainty and provide sufficient information to advance policy objectives with more than educated guesses. Used methodological pluralism exceeds the limitations of existing indices and enables more holistic and robust sustainability assessment. The key advantage is the adoption of many diverse indices due to the diversity of value systems and perspectives associated with pursuit of sustainability. As so far there has not been an index focusing on all three aspects of household consumption sustainability, we suggest that the policymakers include the HCSI in the set of sustainability-related indices. In addition to the above study, the members of the programme team are co(authors) of a number of socially relevant studies in the field of sustainability and environmental economics. Some of them are listed below. Among others, these studies have been used for establishing the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, the agri-environment policy evaluation and the assessment of barriers to achieving climate goals from the Paris Agreement. F.18 Transfer of new know-how to direct users (seminars, fora, conferences)
COBISS.SI-ID: 23545830Since in Slovenia we did not have a comprehensive monitoring of supply / demand for competences, the Court of Audit ordered the Government in its audit report to appoint a stakeholder responsible for collecting and analysing data on the needs for the implementation of individual study programs as a coordinator of the work of the ministries at the national level. This should be the starting point for further decisions about a potential revision of the funding system and the establishment of a system for ensuring the diversity of study programs. The study analysed approaches to predicting competency needs, available data for assessing competency needs, and developed a methodology for assessing current and future demand for competencies in the Republic of Slovenia based on demand in the labour market and the needs of Slovenian society. The results were presented to the Ministry of education and published in the scientific monograph.
