Business-to-Business (B2B) sales forecasting research is important from several viewpoints: a) effective decision supprot of the B2B sales process, knowledge management (tipically based on CRM), identifying information relevant for this decision-making process, and b) including user to in the process of development of the decision support tools and methods. With participatory design we build trust and thus expect higher acceptance of tools in practice (decision support systems, busienss intelligence and machine learning). B2B sales forecasting is based on past data (internal and external), formalized rules, subjective judgment, and tacit organizational knowledge. Its consequences are measured in profit and loss. The research focus of this paper is aimed to narrow the gap between planned and realized performance, introducing a novel approach based on machine learning techniques. Preliminary results of machine learning model performance are presented, with focus on distilled visualizations that create powerful, yet human comprehensible and actionable insights, enabling positive climate for reflection and contributing to continuous organizational learning.

COBISS.SI-ID: 7794707Restructuring of human resources is important question in any organization. We focus on a strict hierarchical structure of the organization, for which a change in a particular class of the structure influences classes that follow it. Furthermore, a quick adaptation of the structure to the desired state is required, where oscillations in transitions between classes are not desired, because they slow down the process of adaptation. Therefore, optimization of such a structure is highly complex, and heuristic methods are needed to approach such problems to address them properly. Hierarchical human resources structure is modeled according to the principles of System Dynamics. Optimization of the structure is performed with an algorithm that combines stochastic local search and genetic algorithms. The developed algorithm was tested on three scenarios; each scenario exhibits a different dynamic in achieving the desired state of the human resource structure. The results show that the developed algorithm has successfully optimized the model parameters to achieve the desired structure of human resources quickly. With the developed algorithm, we have successfully achieved the desired organizational structure in all three cases, without the undesired oscillations in the transitions between classes and in the shortest possible time.

COBISS.SI-ID: 7526419Business model innovation (BMI) has become increasingly important, especially in the fast changing business environment. While large enterprises approach these changes systematically, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are left to their own resourcefulness. For the purpose of developing dedicated methods and tools to support different SMEs in addressing these challenges, we have conducted a multiple case study to gain insights into factors that drive SMEs to innovate their BM, how they approach BMI and what changes they made to their BM. Fort this purpose the framework of analysis was developed based on BMI research frameworks identified in literature review. Then the multiple case studies were conducted following the case study protocol developed by Envision project. Based on the proposed framework the results of four Slovene SME cases revealed differences between enterprises regarding the drivers behind BMI and changes in usage of the different BMI elements. Overall, the results suggest all four SMEs, coming from different sectors, are facing BMI challenges without systematically addressing it and without using any dedicated BM ontologies or tools. Objective of the ENIVSION project is to develop (and validate) methods and tools to support BMI in SMEs. BMI in SMEs is refereed as an important enabler of economic growth and competitiveness in strategic EU documents. In the scope of the project quantitative and qualitative research is performed, with participation of SMEs in development and testing methods and tools, which are available on-line at businessmakeover.eu.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4203208Questions addressed in the research are addressing vast possibilities of the use of technologies in the fields of health, organization of healthcare processes, to better quality of life. This paper describes the development of the three prototypes which enable monitoring of heart pulse sensor data in the cloud. The prototypes are based on a) Bluetooth module, b) Low Energy Bluetooth module and c) ESP8266 Wi-Fi module. The client side implementation is developed by the application of JavaScript. Node.js was used on the server side with application of node-serial-port library with Bluetooth modules. In the case where ESP8266 Wi-Fi module was used, the data was transmitted directly to the cloud. The three different prototypes were compared according to the power consumption and complexity of design. The code example is provided illustrating the approach to develop cloud based graphing interface for biomedical mobile monitoring. Research is continuation of cooperation with partner institutions of University of Monte Negro and Siberian State Aerospace University.

COBISS.SI-ID: 7660563Electronic documentation of nursing care data requires unified documentation, data standards, adequately accessible information technology and existing legislation. The aim of the study was to determine the role of electronic nursing care record in evaluation of patients with vascular access malfunction. Fort his purpose ten hospitalized patients with end-stage renal disease were enrolled in our study. Five nurses evaluated patients’ problems with vascular access using the model of electronic nursing care record for nursing diagnosis of vascular access malfunction. The model has been tested with mobile device - tablet computers. After the patients conditions were evaluated, interviews with nurses about functionality of the model of electronic nursing care record were performed. The answers were analyzed using SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis. The study shows that electronic nursing care record ensures an efficient evaluation of a patient for a single nursing diagnosis in all process phases of nursing care. Using electronic record, nurses systematically collect and manually enter data into a mobile device next to a patient’s bed and therefore increase accuracy of nursing care record. The electronic record sufficiently includes all data about venous accesses and vital signs at a single access point. The screen of a mobile device enables quick access to information about patients’ medical data and therefore quicker nurse’s response. The results encourage us to further develop electronic nursing care record also for other nursing diagnoses in the field of nephrology and to implement e-documentation in daily clinical practice.
