Members of program group organize 16 triennial meeting of virological section, European Association of Potato Research (EAPR) and 8th yearly meeting of PVYWIDE organization. Plenary lecture was given by member of the group Kristina Gruden.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting

On February 16, 2016 they organized together with their spin-off company Biosistemika a live Webinar: Why go digital in PCR? with more than 100 participants. From March 3 to 11, 2016, they organized together with The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD) and the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning a Central and Eastern European workshop on the detection and identification of living modified organisms, which was attended by participants from 12 EU and other countries. A. Coll was invited to present the hands-on tutorial on GenoCAD, a tool that facilitates multiple-construct-vector design, at the annual thematic Research School “Advances in Systems and Synthetic Biology” (aSSBEvry' 16), organised in Every, France in March 2016 and supported by Genopole®,CNRS and other sponsors. From November 28 to 30, 2016 a hands on workshop on ddPCR was orginized for Slovene and foreign researchers from companies and institutions. Course on detection of viruses and phytoplasmas was organized for 4 members of the general official Russian laboratory from Moscow for plant pathogen diagnostics. They continue with the project of international proficiency testing scheme for the molecular detection of bacterial pathogens of plants: Xylella fastidiosa, ‘Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum’, flavescence dorée phytoplasma and ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma solani’ with 37 participants from EU, Australia, Israel and Turkey.

C.04 Editorial board of an international magazine
Members of the program team have participated in the production of film on metrology broadcasting on TV SLO 1 on May 21, 2016 during the World Metrology Day. We co-organized the Slovenian part of the World Fascination of Plants day on May 27, 2016, with several workshops and a public lecture of M. Dermastia about challenges of food security, which has been published on Metina lista – Znanost. Between June 6 and 5, 2016 we participated at the Znanstival. M. Dermastia had a public lecture on September 22, 2016 about how we can help plants to live a healthy life. As team members of the EU project Researchers Night we have several workshops in the City Park, Ljubljana on September 9, 2016. M. Pompe Novak participated in a public debate about the project, which was broadcasted at Tromba portal, and M. Dermastia participated at the press conference in Koper and TV news Odmevi. A master student of M. Dermastia and N. Mehle, Sara Vidmar, showed her research work at the firs Slovenian Science slam on 29 September, 2016. Denis Kutnjak had a public lecture about a biodiversity of plant viruses on December 1, 2016 in the Alpine botanical garden Julijana in Trenta.
D.01 Chairing over/coordinating (international and national) projects
COBISS.SI-ID: 4030031Anja Pugelj received the Faculty Prešeren Award for her work on development of LAMP protocol for detection of grapevine phytoplasma 'Candidatus Phytoplsma solani'. Marina Dermastia recieved a citation as a finalist for the honorary title Comunicator of science 2016 by the Slovenian Science foundation for a serial lectures and articles on food security.
