The fifth revised edition of professional monography is intended for fruit growers-amateurs and professional fruit growers. The principles and rules of fruit pruning for various fruit plants are described in detail. In addition to fruit pruning, the basic characteristics of fruit planting and training systems are illustrated.

COBISS.SI-ID: 288888320Working principle of the device is based on size sorting of potato tubers in rotation. The common sorting machines work on the basis of translatory movement of the tubers. This means that the tubers move forward and backward during the sorting process on a grating with different square wholes and smaller tubers are removed in the process. At especially younger tubers this can cause peeling of the tuber skin. Such tubers are not appealing for consumers. The proposed device for the patent has several shafts with adjustable gaps between them for sorting out the small tubers. Shafts are coated with soft material to prevent tuber damage and skin peeling. With such device young tubers or tubers after storage will not be damaged and this will result in higher percentage of marketable tubers. The device with some adjustments could be also used for other agricultural crops with soft skin that has to stay intact during sorting and handling.

COBISS.SI-ID: 8640889Increasing self-sufficiency in food is one of the key goals of the resolution on strategic direction of development of Slovenian agriculture and food production by the year 2020. Changed structure of crop production, environmental protection, conservation of biodiversity and climate change requires constant adaptation of species composition. This dictates the need for new cultures that are resistant to extreme weather conditions. Group of Horticulture continues testing the cultivation of (sub) tropical perennials - sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.). After several years of work in year 2017, we managed to breed a new variety 'Vilma'. The morphological characteristics of the variety: bush branching, deeply cut leaves, egg-shaped tubers with brown-white skin and white flesh. In year 2015 we included three new cultivars of sweet potato to the cultivar list. Cultivar 'Martina', which features a purple grape skin and white flesh tubers, cultivar 'Janja' is a variety with white flesh and white skin and 'Lučka', which is due to high levels of carotenoids in orange meat and orange peel.
