We have developed innovative system for training of dynamic balance and turning during walking of neurologically impaired subjects. The central element of the system is represented by a mechanism that tightly braces pelvis of a walking subject and enables movement of the pelvis in all six degrees of freedom. Three degrees of freedom are actuated by admittance-controlled motors. Mechanism can be mounted onto a treadmill or mobile platform. The device enables application of assistive as well as perturbing forces acting on the pelvis which is crucial for efficient motor learning.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2248297The invention “Device for assessing and display of a difference in vectors of forces exercised by a pair of arms or legs” was granted a patent that covers the territory of European Union (before that in 2015 patent was granted in China). The subject of the invention is a device for assessing and displaying a difference in vectors of forces applied by a pair of arms or legs. The device is preferably intended for exercising of patients suffering from illness or injury of the neuro-musculoskeletal system (e. g. hemiparesis). Commercial version of the device is being developed and commercialized by Kinestica company under the trademark Bimeo.

COBISS.SI-ID: 11160916We have developed a prototype of a therapeutic training device that enables coordinated arm and leg movement. The main feature of the device is possibility of selecting various movement trajectories that can be circle, ellipse or straight line. In this way training of the movement of extremities which is much closer to functional movement performed during activities of daily living as compared to simple circular movement is possible. Patent was licensed to a company medica Medizintechnik GmbH which is in the process of bringing the device to the market.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2209129We have developed an original haptic system that depending on the mechanical configuration offers training of all the aspects of movement of the upper-extremity. The mechanism has only two active degrees of freedom making it low-cost and thus offering possibilities to develop adaptive virtual reality environment for rehabilitation robotics supported training to be used at homes of individual users, which is an important step toward new telerehabilitation services.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2128489The book presents the measurement systems that can be embedded into a rowing boat or rowing simulator. The systems enable measurement of current boat velocity, seat displacement, oar forces, feet reaction forces, and orientation of oars. They enable the interpretation of rowing pulling phase and can be used as an assistive method for the trainer or rower for rowing efficiency optimization, correction of rowing technique and synchronization of multiple rowers among rowing team.
