The Laboratory for refrigeration and district heating (LAHDE) organized the 29th ECOS conference – ECOS 2016, which was held in Portorož, Slovenia, between the 19th to 23rd of June 2016. There were 326 participants from 42 countries. The number of papers was 262. This conference had a very high importance in the scientific community, since there was a huge list of international peer-reviewed journals with special issues for publication of selected full papers: Energy, Energies, Energy and Buildings, Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering, International Journal of Energy and Environmental Engineering, Journal of Energy Resources Technology and Journal of Mechanical Engineering. We were also honored by the distinguished professors/researchers, which had plenary lectures. The first one was prof. dr. Matija Tuma, who presented a very interesting plenary lecture entitled: Prof. Dr. Zoran Rant in which prof. dr. Tuma and prof. dr. Sekavčnik had a memorial lecture on life and outstanding scientific work of the prof. dr. Zoran Rant. The second was Prof. Dr. Osamu Motojima with a plenary lecture entitled: The Role of Fusion Energy in the Future Energy Mix for the Sustainable Development of the World. Prof. Motojima is a leading expert in the field of fusion energy and the former General Director of the ITER project Besides plenary lectures, there were also keynote lectures in which many distinguished professors performed a lecture.

COBISS.SI-ID: 14772251There is significant potential for reducing consumption, especially in energy-intensive sectors such as buildings, manufacturing, energy conversion and transport. The EU countries account for energy demand in the building sector approximately 40% of total energy use. In Slovenia, the major part of that energy is used for heating. We expect that it will have the same trend as in the rest of the world, increasing the proportion of energy for cooling and ventilation. As part of the activities for energy efficiency they are also required regular inspections of air-conditioning systems. The purpose of the periodic inspection of air-conditioning systems is to prepare proposals for increasing the energy efficiency of the system or its replacement. Regular inspections of air conditioning systems in combination with a system of automation , control and measurement of energy consumption enables users numerous advantages (achieving and providing favorable living and working conditions , optimum performance devices , energy saving , repeatable and predictable process control, easier to detect and correct errors , more efficient maintenance).

COBISS.SI-ID: 14543643Software tool was made based on the developed and validated green roofs heat and mass transfer numerical model. Tool is adapted for analysis of extensive green roofs with mineral wool growing media, developed by company Knauf Insulation from Škofja Loka, for which software tool was developed. PET tool so presents the transfer of research results into practice. The software contributes to increase the competence of the technical service, further development of Urbanscape green roofs, consultancy and promotion, and therefore to market growth and finally also in the promotion of sustainable and energy efficient green roofs technology. Software tool was presented at the Akademija strojništva 2016 international conference and Svet strojništva journal, WREC XIV international conference and at presentations and promotions of Urbanscape green roofs.

COBISS.SI-ID: 14748699A heat exchanging board (1) and a board-type heat exchanger provided with the heat exchanging board (1). The heat exchanging board (1) comprises a board main body (11). Multiple recessed portions (12) and multiple raised portions (13) are disposed on the surface of the board main body (11). The multiple recessed portions (12) and the multiple raised portions (13) are disposed in a staggered manner along a first direction (S1) and are disposed in a staggered manner along a second direction (S2) perpendicular to the first direction (S1). Top portions of the multiple raised portions (13) are provided slender forms along the first direction (S1). The heat exchanging board (1) and the board-type heat exchanger provided with the heat exchanging board (1) can ensure good strength of the heat exchanger in the case of ensuring the heat exchanging efficiency, and can reduce manufacturing cost of the heat exchanging board (1).
