Barbara Simončič was awarded as The Mentor of the year 2015 and thus gained the prestigious title of the best Slovenian mentor of the young researchers and doctoral students. The prize was awarded by the Society of young researchers of Slovenia. The aim of the prize is to promote good tutoring and mentoring best practices, as well as personal recognition of the individual excellent mentors. The right to propose the mentor have all doctoral students who are enrolled in doctoral studies for at least two years or have completed their studies and presented their doctoral theses within the last two years.

COBISS.SI-ID: 284803840Scientific journal Tekstilec (ISSN: 0351-3386 printed, electronic 2350-3696) is the only national magazine in the fields of textile and clothing technology, design and marketing of textiles and clothes. The journal publisher is University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering. It has been since 1958, at the beginning as Tekstilni obveščevalec, and later, from the year 1973 under the current name Tekstilec. Tekstilec is a wide recognizable in the Slovenian professional environment and also in wider region of the former Yugoslavia. In the year 2016 the volume 59 was released in five issues on the total 434 pages or 54.12 copyright sheets. Total regular circulation amounted to 1315 copies. An extra edition of 300 copies was distributed to the participants of the international symposium AUTEX. In We have published 27 peer-reviewed scientific articles, mostly from the current topics in the areas of functionalization of textiles and smart textiles. In lesser extent have been published articles from the fields of technical textiles, fibres, colour management and response to colour, 3D visualization of textiles, textile composites, mechanical textile technology and fashion design. In journals with an impact factor of SCI (base WoS) the scientific articles published in the journal Tekstilec in the period 2006–2016, were cited 67 times; articles that were published in the period 2014–2016 were cited total 8 times. In a database SCOPUS reached the journal Tekstlec an impact factor SRJ of 0.15 in the year 2015, which ranks it in the third quartile (Q3).

COBISS.SI-ID: 763396Object of the presented invention belongs to the field of frequency selective screens which act as filters for different electromagnetic radiation frequency ranges. The invention refers to the meta-cells design and their transfer by means of the printing process onto the flexible printing materials. By printing the meta-cells, so called meta-papers are produced, which act as frequency selective screens. The function of the filter for a specific electromagnetic frequency range is achieved by the appropriate shape and dimension of the meta-cells. The invention refers especially to the manufacturing of a frequency selective screen. Printed screens can be used to protect people from a harmful electromagnetic radiation, as well as for data protection or to improve the performance of wireless networks. More specifically, it is about printing of meta-cells on a flexible printing material. Printing can be done roll-to-roll using conventional or digital printing technologies. Depending on the meta-cells shape and size, the screen will weaken different frequency ranges. The end result is a so called meta-paper or frequency selective screen that can be used as a wall wallpaper in the rooms where we want to weaken specified frequency ranges. Innovation is the manufacturing of a selective screen for various frequency ranges. In accordance with the international classification of patents, the invention is classified into the group H04.

COBISS.SI-ID: 382656Object of the presented invention belongs to the field of secondary packaging for storing foods, for which it is desirable to control their temperature before consumption. The invention refers to the cardboard packaging made of a multi-layered cardboard, where the incorporated printed temperature sensor allows the end user to determine the appropriate temperature before food consumption. More precisely, it is a temperature (resistor) sensor, printed with the conventional or digital printing technology and is placed at the bottom of the smart packaging under the protective laminating heat resistant layer. Innovation is a printed temperature sensor, while the measurement system is based on conventional electronics. The sensor itself is not tied to the measuring system type, and it can be upgraded with a system for the radio frequency communication. In accordance with the international classification of patents, the invention is classified into the group B65D.
