There is an essential need for processes intensification due to the design of new products with special characteristics or to design new processes, which are environmentally friendly and sustainable. When in a certain extraction system SCFs are applied, the particular thermodynamic and transport data have to be considered. Investigations of basic thermodynamic and transport data like phase equilibria, density, viscosity, dielectric constant and diffusion coefficients are fundamental for process design. Literature provides these information, which can be obtained from phase equilibrium and mass transfer measurements, mostly for the processes and reactions performed at ambient pressures. Since the trend is shifted towards applications performed at elevated pressures, several parameters influencing solubility, mass transfer of target compounds in the SCF, and consequently extraction yield have to be considered prior to choosing the suitable processing solvent and process parameters should be determined at conditions pertinent to the process. Extract quality depends on processing pressure and temperature which can seriously influence the composition of the final extracts. In addition, pressure drop effect has to be evaluated and taken into account when optimizing parameters to obtain the best ratio between yield and solvent amount and extraction time. There is an additional requirement, namely, highest possible loading of SC solvent should be achieved in extraction step of the processes, while in separation step of the process the solubility of solute in solvent should be the lowest. The lecture is focused on thermodynamic and mass transfer fundamental data for some processes using sub or supercritical fluids with different gasses like propane, argon, chlorinated hydrocarbons, sulfur hexafluoride and carbon dioxide.

COBISS.SI-ID: 19996438Duration of Summer School: "The European Summer School in High Pressure Technology, ESS-HPT", was 14 days in time from 3rd of July to 17th of July. The course was on two locations first in University of Maribor on Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and on Graz University of Technology in Austria. The European Summer School in High Pressure Technology is promoted by the members of the Working Party “High Pressure Technology” of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE). All members, recognised European experts, both in the theoretical aspects and in the industrial applications of high pressure technologies, will present the keynote lectures.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting
The patent relates to a method and apparatus for low temperature waste heat utilization. In the scope of the cogeneration unit there are few low temperature sources, which cannot be used by heat consumer directly. Hence, the method and apparatus for cogeneration power plant waste heat recovery collects the waste heat for water source high temperature water source heat pump employment, wherein its hot water outlet is fed to the internal combustion engine cooling system, wherein the maximum allowed inlet temperature is achieved and maintained by automated control system. It is important to notice, that low temperature sources are herein represented by the exhaust gas in the scope of exhaust system, the charging air/fuel mix in the scope of the intercooler or turbo-supercharger, and lubrication oil cooling system in the scope of internal combustion engine or heat pump.

In addition, he infomed the interested general public about the anticarcinogenic action of natural polyphenols through an interview for a medical journal 5 minut za zdravje. Moreover, the Programme group members delivered a series of popular lectures for high-school students at II. Gimnazija Maribor and at Gimnazija Franca Miklošiča Ljutomer. Finally, they also menthored Master theses, which received Krka, Henkel, Perlach and Dean's Award, as well as high-school research projects, which received Krka award and gold, silver or bronze medals at the regional and state meeting of young researchers.
F.29 Contribution to the development of national cultural identity
In a process for extracting products of value from animal or vegetable starting material the intention is to provide a solution with which the extraction is improved in terms both of the yield and the separation of natural products to be extracted and of the process management. This is achieved by extracting soluble constituents from the starting material in a first extraction step with the aid of CO2, and subsequently extracting further constituents in a second extraction step with compressed hydrocarbons.
