The invention encompasses a device and algorithms to measure electrocardiographic signals (ECG) in an innovative way by dry or capacitive electrodes mounted in human dwelling environments. The electrodes are touched by the monitored persons during daily activities. The electrodes are coupled with a measuring unit that amplifies the ECG signals and supresses various disturbances. When the electrode embodiment is in the form of metallic pipes, the measuring unit is placed inside the pipe to diminish the electromagnetic noises. The core of invention is two subunits that suppress power-line interferences (50 Hz) and compensate nonlinear degradation of signals. The former includes an input amplification stage with switched-capacitor filter (SCF) and a microcontroller to drive the filter. Embedded algorithms process the measured signals, derive the exact power-line frequency and, in real time, drive the SCF for an optimal suppression of the interference even when its frequency fluctuates. The second subunit connects the input amplification stage with an instrumentation amplifier and a microcontroller. The microcontroller executes special algorithms to detect nonlinear parts of the acquired signals. Nonlinearities are smoothed in real time by the polynomial interpolation. The same microcontroller communicates with the computer network and transmits data packages of the ECG signals.

COBISS.SI-ID: 18634774This invention considers a methods and apparatus for the lossless progressive compression of measurement data, obtained by the airborne Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) scanning. The procedure presented by this invention consists of the several steps: the determination of bounding box, dividing the bounding box into the 2D grid, defining the levels of grid lines, defining the level of point, distributing the point into the corresponding array, and storing the arrays by using compression method. The method performs the arrangements of the LIDAR data in the hierarchical levels without preprocessing in one pass due to the expected large sizes of data files.

COBISS.SI-ID: 81532929This paper introduces a modified bat algorithm using quaternion representation of individuals. Quaternions are a number system, which extends complex numbers. They are successfully applied to problems of theoretical physics and to those areas needing fast rotation calculations. We propose the application of quaternions in optimization, more precisely, we have been using quaternions for representation of individuals in bat algorithm belonging to a swarm intelligence family. It is expected that the problems with stagnation in swarm intelligence should be reduced or even eliminated. We believe that this representation could successfully be applied also to the other swarm intelligence and evolutionary algorithms.
