In the chapter of the monograph different bioreactor systems for continuous production of bacteriophages, analysis of population dynamics bacteria/bacteriophages, the influence of selection pressure on mutation and stability of bacteriophages as well as the ways of isolation of bacteriophages are described.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1536630979The criteria for the determination of the moment in bioprocess of multiplication of bacteriophages specific to the genus Camphylobacter at the maximal concentration of released bacteriophages are presented. The criterion are determined on basis of measurement of dissolved oxygen concentration which is unusual since the bacteria belong to the genus Camphylobacter microaerophili. The process must be completed with regard to the proposed criterion when the concentration of oxygen increases at least at a rate of 0,05%/min when the concentration at least 20% of the initial value is achieved.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1559693This research is focused on the uncertainty sources and limitations in determining a total ionic composition of natural water with ion chromatography. The chapter is organized into sections corresponding to the steps performed during an analytical process. Each section is focused on a particular case study with the objective of recognizing and evaluating uncertainty contributions with a bottom-up approach. Methodology necessary for these evaluations is described and applied to give answers on the importance of particular contributions. This chapter tends to develop guidance and strategies applicable to new complex cases.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1536532163The subject of the invention is a bioreactor system for the continuous cultivation of bacteriophages, which is composed of interconnected mixer and a tubular reactor through which the fluid flows constantly. In a stirred reactor bacterial cells are cultured. The constant flow brings the nutrients to the cells which are then transferred into a tubular reactor. During transfer, the cells are infected with the purified phages. In the tubular reactor multiplication of bacteriophages takes place without additional nutrients or active mixing.
