ESFC symposia are organized every three years and are, besides the International Symposia on Fluorine Chemistry (ISFC), the most important meetings of the international fluorine community. The symposium was interesting for researchers from universities, institutes and industry. There were 333 participants at the symposium. The international reputation of the program group and its achievements were reflected in the fact that the international research community entrusted us with the organization of such a prestigious event. The following members of the program group participated in the organization of the event: T. Skapin (Chairman), M. Tramšek (Co-chair), B. Žemva (Honorary chairman and Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board) and A. Koblar, R. Moravec, T. Oblak, G. Tavčar (members of the Organizing committee).

COBISS.SI-ID: 251525120The present invention relates to a process for the electrochemical synthesis of the silver(II) salts of high purity, to the method of synthesis of silver(II) hydrates of high purity, to the products produced by these methods, and also to the use of the silver(II) compounds thus obtained to modify the molecular structures of organic compounds, comprising isomerization processes (including cyclization and ring opening) dehydrogenation (including aromatization), cracking (breaking of C-C bonds) and coupling (formation of C-C bonds) of the molecules of organic compounds, allowing their processing in the simple synthesis of the type one-pot (i.e., direct one-step synthesis). In some cases, modification reactions of organic compounds occur simultaneously or sequentially, resulting in many new products.

COBISS.SI-ID: 29791015The original scientific article "Safety related key performance indicators for securing long-term business development: a case study" was published in a recognized scientific journal. The article describes in a detail a suggested approach for selection of the key performance indicators for the aspect of the process safety into the dynamic risk assessment on a case of the implementation monitoring of the long term development strategy of port operator organization Luka Koper d.d., Slovenia. The issue is how to use the results of the risk assessment into the management's decisions. In the article we enhanced the case risk model by the use of the Bayesian networks in a way that it dynamically considers important qualities of the organization's safety management system. We also presented why dynamic risk models are more demanding vs. conventional static risk models.
F.01 Acquisition of new practical knowledge, information and skills
COBISS.SI-ID: 30570791In e-EROS: encyclopedia of reagents for organic synthesis we presented XeF2 as a versatile reagent, which is used in very different areas of organic synthesis such as reactions with aromatic aldehydes or ketones, with organosulfur, organoselenium, and organotellurium compounds, organic iodine compounds and others. The synthesis of organoxenon(II) compounds was described. Beside its versatile use in organic synthesis, we pointed out the influence of chosen solvent and vessel on the course of the reactions. It is worth mentioned that XeF2 is also important reagent in the other research fields such as inorganic chemistry, material chemistry and even in the commercial devices in which it is used as an etching gas, primarily in the Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS).

COBISS.SI-ID: 30427687In the chapter, diverse aspects of the energetics of metal ß-diketonates and their derivatives defined as species with a substructure of the type [M(dik)n], where dik (ß-diketonato) is an organic monovalent anion of structure (RC(X)C(R1)C(O)R2)– and M is an arbitrary metal are discussed. In addition to thermochemical and related studies, enthalpies of reaction and of formation as well as equilibrium measurements and stability constants are included. The gain or loss of an electron and therefore consider ionization potentials, electron affinities, and electrochemical potentials are also discussed.
