Tree of heaven is one of the most widely spread non-native tree species in Slovenia. The most commonly it grows outside forest, but sometimes it can also be found in forests. In our forests is prohibited to use chemical suppression, so we tested three kinds of mechanical repression of this species. The most successful method was pulling out of the total specimens, and at least breaking annual shoots. Mechanical control is most effective when it is combined with other measures, such as: small surface rejuvenation, care for the filler layer, use of silvicultural systems that promote species diversity in the structure stands, and promoting the planting of fast-growing, site-appropriate native species.

Contribution deals with the distribution of the tree of heaven in Slovenia. It was found out that tree of heaven densely settled mainly in western Slovenia, where it has already become an important invasive species. Based on the data collected and according to the model, it was found out that the most vulnerable to the spread of the tree of heaven are forests of downy oak and sessile oak on carbonate bedrock and terra rossa, sub-Mediterranean hornbeam forests, riverine forests, as well as submontane and thermophilic beech forests. Probability of occurrence of the Tree of heaven is smaller in acidophilic oak forests, as well as in acidophilic and montane beech forests.
