Land fragmentation of agricultural holdings and soil, topographic and water conditions unsuitable for agricultural production are serious obstacles to agricultural development with adverse effects to rural and regional development in general. In addition to the efforts aimed at making agriculture and forestry more competitive through a comprehensive reallocation process, improvement of road and water conditions, landscaping, environmental management, conservation projects, and other functions may be implemented by land operations. The article is aimed to present the activities of agricultural land consolidation with accompanied measures in Slovenia in the framework of Rural development programme 2007-2013 and planned activities in these fields under Rural development program 2014-2020. The discussion is focused on the measures of land rearrangements and land operations according to the Slovenian Agricultural Land Act, which includes both simple rearrangements of land parcel and land ownership structures and more complex land consolidations with accompanied amelioration operations.

In this paper, the system of real property mass valuation in Slovenia is presented. The key part of such a system is data on land (real property) and their values, which is of high importance also for implementation of different measures within land policy frame, including agricultural land policy. With the real property mass valuation system, Slovenia has taken a great step towards a transparent real property market and different land transactions. The emphasis of the paper is on quality of spatial data, which is of high importance for objectiveness and multifunctionality of the system.
