COBISS.SI-ID: 3785073Project leader is initiator if establishment of STRI (Slovenian Translatinal Research Innitiative ) which would become an active partner of EATRIS ERIC (European Advanced Translational Research InfraStructure in Medicine). The initiative has been accepted in the National Roadmap. The aim of such activities is to inforce the translation of genomic, transcriptomic and metabolomic methodologies in into clinical practice with the goal to improve both diagnosis and treatment of patients. All of this indicates a high scientific and socio-economic relevance of her work. The promotion of EATRIS activities at the professional conference JAKOPIN, Žiga, MLINARIČ-RAŠČAN, Irena. D.04 Initiative to set up a new research area in Slovenia
COBISS.SI-ID: 3659377Project leadear is involved in development of concept of personilezed medicine,. She lectures and take numerous organiaztinal activities. Personalization of medicines and medicine is a task of interdisciplinary team of experts of diverse disciplines, while pharmacists as prime drug experts should be at the forefront of development of emerging novel concept and practice of personalized medicine. Pharmaceutical profession faces diverse challenges and needs to set a highly ambitious goals to provide future pharmacists along with currently practicing professionals with key competences both to govern the concept development as well as implement the practice of personalized medicine in terms of tailoring therapeutics to individual patients. The curricula of pharmaceutical education have been adapting to these changes both at the undergraduate as well as at lifelong learning level. Numerous initiatives have been established as independent entities or within existing pharmaceutical associations. The Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Ljubljana sets a good example of integration of Pharmacogenomics into curricula. Advances in field of genomics, emergence of targeted medicines along with periodical development of Pharmacy curricula allowed the integration of advanced knowledge and technologies into existing subject.
