The Principle Investigator during the course of the research project left the Slovenian National Institute of Chemistry and got appointed as Head of the Laboratory for Physical Chemistry and Chemical Thermodynamics at Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Maribor. He directs the research and teaching work of 2 Associate Professors, 2 Postdocs, 2 Young Researchers, 2 PhD students and 1 Technician. He is the Vice-Dean for research and development, the Head of Chair of Chemistry and a memember of the University and Faculty Senate as well as of the Faculty Governing Council and Habilitation Committee. Professor Bren lectures undergraduate and graduate courses in Physical Chemistry, Statistical Thermodynamics, Molecular Modeling, Biomolecular Simulations and Thermodynamic Calculations. He is a member of the Managing Board of Slovenian Young Academy and of the ARRS working group MR+ as well as a representative of the Republic of Slovenia in COST Targeted Network TN1301 Sci-Generation. Professor Praprotnik heads the Laboratory for molecular modeling of the Slovenian National Institute of Chemistry, Professor Poklar Ulrih is the Vice-Dean of Biotechnical Faculty as well as the Head of Chair of Food Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Professor Rozman leads the Centre for Functional Genomcis and Bio-Chips, Faculty of Medicine, as well as is a member of the ARRS Research Council of Interdisciplinary Sciences.
D.08 Management and development of research activities
Commitment of the Principle Investigator and Ljubljanske mlekarne d.d. to develop the best natural polyphenolic scavenger of chemical carcinogens further into a food supplement received the 2014 Award of Socially-Responsible Business Practices in Bled. Professor Bren also menthored Master theses, which received Krka, Henkel and Dean's Award, as well as high-school research projects, which received Krka award, the first place at the Competition of young researchers for the development of Maribor and the bronze medal at the Slovenian meeting of young researchers. His Postdoc Dr. Tine Curk received Krka award and Pregel award of the Slovenian National Institute of Chemistry. Professor Janežič was for her exceptional research achievements given the highest Slovenian Zois Award and Professor Rozman the Slovenian Zois Prize as well as Lapanje award of the Slovenian Biochemical Society.

Principle Investigator is an Editorial Board Member of an International Scientific magazine Journal of Chemistry listed in the ISI Web of Science and possessing an impact factor. Profesor Janežič is an Editorial Board Member of prestegeous international scientific magazines Journal of Cheminformatics, Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling as well as Recent patents on engineering, Professor Rozman of Scientific reports, Acta chimica slovenica as well as BMC systems biology and Professor Poklar Ulrih of Global journal of analytical chemistry and International journal of membrane science and technology. The project group members also got approved six patents by the European, American, Japanese and Slovenian Patent Offices.
C.04 Editorial board of an international magazine
For three years the Principle Investigator Professor Urban Bren served as a Guest Professor at the Institute for Molecular Modeling, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria. He taught a graduate course in Biomolecular Simulations for students of Bioinformatics and he received high student evaluations. The Principle Investigator also delivered an invited lecture on Computer simulations of aflatoxin B1 activation and genotoxicity at Mycotoxin Summer Talks 2014, 4.7., Universitäts- und Forschungszentrum, Tulln. Finally, the Principle Investigator presented his research work on Chemical Carcinogenesis in a series of invited lectures at international scientific conferences Math/Chem/Comp 2015, 2016 and 2017, BIBE 2015, NanoMathChem 2015 and EMN 2017. Professor Janežič delivered two invited talks at ACS National Meeting & Exposition, Professor Rozman two invited talks at Microsomes and drug oxidations and Professor Praprotnik two invited talks at World Congress on Computational Mechanics.

COBISS.SI-ID: 5514266The Principle Investigator gave an interview "Cancer Prevention" for the National Television and an interview "Chemical Carcinogens and Their Scavengers - Who Will Be Faster?" for supplement Znanost of the leading Slovenian newspaper Delo. On the occassion of awarding the Nobel Prize to the field of Computational Chemistry Professor Urban Bren published a popular aricle Computer simulations in the field of Chemistry for a Slovenian expert magazine Chemistry in School and Society and authored a radio show Frekvenca X at Val 202. The Principle Investigator also presented his research work at popular television shows Tednik (Slovenian national television) and Vizita 24 ur (commercial television Pop TV). Finally, the Principal Investigatore delivered a series of popular lectures for high-school students at II. Gimnazija Maribor, Gimnazija Franca Miklošiča Ljutomer and Gimnazija Celje - Center, organized a round table discussion on resveratrol as well as was invited as a participant to the round table Slovenian Terminology in Professional Life: Current State and Future Needs. Professor Rozman also gave two television, one radio as well as two newspaper interviews and Professor Poklar Ulrih delivered two television and one radio interview.
