This violume has been coedited by two of this project members - Dr Škof and Dr Kersten. Exploring the relations between the concepts of peace and violence with aesthetics, nature, the body, and environmental issues, 'The poesis of peace' applies a multidisciplinary approach to case studies in both Western and non-Western contexts including Islam, Chinese philosophy, Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Established and renowned thinkers such as Kevin Hart, Eduardo Mendieta and Clemens Sedmak, as well as upcoming and talented young academics look at peace and non-violence through the lens of recent scholarly advances on the subject achieved in the fields of theology, philosophy, political theory, and environmentalism.

C.06 Editorial board membership
Co-editor of international edited volume and original paper. The paper brings together perceptions and concerns about the practical consequences of the misconceptions of the concept of women’s bodies as symbols of cultural identity. Here the prejudice of women’s bodies as not considered fully their own, but considered to be the property of men at large, is analysed. Such explanations supply the background that creates callousness toward even the most violent denials of women’s body right. In armed conflict, there is a widespread practice of targeting women for particular abuse, precisely because of their association with the identity and well-being of their community. The use of rape and other forms of sexual humiliation as a weapon of war is analysed within the universal orientation of the impact of negative gender stereotypes and prejudices formed and perpetuated within religion-society circle and confronted with the issue of understanding women as symbols of collective victimhood. To that extent the vulnerability of women’s bodies could be understood as the one being violated and abused by violent others. On the other hand, the role of women in the process of healing traumas and reconciliation in terms of post-war (religious) peace-building is also investigated. This edited volume is an important contribution to feminist peace building theory.
