COBISS.SI-ID: 2574531This interview discuss the state and future plans of sustainable urban mobility in Slovenia. The status of sustainable mobility in the country in still in the starting phase, few decades behind the developed country in EU. Recently established Slovene Platform on Sustainable Mobility brings new perspective into traditional planning culture. It is also expected that funds assigned for sustainable mobility in the Operational programme will ensure that it will now become a regular planning practice in Slovenia.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2574787The travelling exibition entitled Climate change? So what!? has been designed in the project C3-Alps – Capitalizing climate change knowledge for adaptation in the Alpine Space as an awareness raising and knowledge transfer tool, aimed mainly at stakeholders in the two Slovenian pilot areas, that is the Gorenjska and Koroška statistical regions. The carrier of information is a physical structure – pop-up wall with panels which contain information about the main terms connected with climate change and adaptation (2 panels); examples of adaptation topics, approaches and tools (1), climate change adaptation policy and processes at the global level, in the EU and in Slovenia (2); pilot activites in Slovenia and results of a climate change vulnerability assessment for the Gorenjska region (2) and about the C3-Alps project (3). The wall was exhibited at the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana, at the Kranj City Library in Kranj and the Youth Cultural Centre in Radlje ob Dravi. Exhibitions were accompanied by presentation and lectures. The content of the travelling exhibition as well as materials about the exhibitions, presentations and lectures are available from http://c3alps.uirs.si.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2610883The aim of national seminar and workshop “Spatial processes and development: common challenges for spatial planning, social and health policies” was to support the cooperation and harmonization of spatial development, health and social policies in Slovenia; more specifically: to bring together actors involved in preparation of the new Spatial Planning Strategy, new Strategy of health services 2013-2023 and proposal of Active ageing Strategy. The event facilitated networking between actors involved in preparation of strategies, raising awareness of interdependency btw sectoral policies, finding common challenges/points in spatial & health strategy and coordinating and balancing proposed objectives and measures. Actors, decision makers, service providers, researchers and partners from related projects from Slovenia were confronted to address challenges, opportunities and preparation of new/upgraded strategies on national level as well as for the future programming period. Prior to the invent also three group interviews were carried out with actors from each of the involved policy fields, to assess the cooperation between sectors, national trends, key issues and goals that should be addressed jointly. The output of this seminar (together with the output of 4 more SPHERA Alpine Space European Territorial Cooperation seminars taking place in Italy, Switzerland, Austria and France), in terms of proceedings, will serve to identify possible synergies and mapping stakeholders to prepare a common ground of future activities for the programming period 2014 – 2020.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2596035At the workshop we presented the results of the international project MORECO - Mobility and Residential Costs – in which Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia participated as a partner. The project has been performed in the framework of the European Alpine Space Programme. It was dealing with the correlation between future housing locations, mobility behaviour and accessibility, especially with the consequences for public transport. MORECO's main objective was to support a sustainable, resource-friendly settlement development which follows supply facilities and public transport axes. MORECO aim was to steer future housing market towards smart locations that offer a good quality of supply to minimise future mobility costs. In order to raise awareness of different groups, stakeholders and the general public, MORECO project has developed three "tools", one descriptive for political decision-makers and those in administration who execute the decisions, particularly on the municipal level and two computer tools: tool for urban planners and traffic planners and tool for households.
