Traditionally, Chair of Otorhinolaryngology at the Medical Faculty (University of Ljubljana), ENT Clinic (UKC Ljubljana) and Association of Otorhinolaryngologists (at the SZD) organize on annual basis a professional meeting, Otolaryngology Day, on topics suggested by participants of the previous meeting. In 2014, the meeting was dedicated to collaboration between otorhinolaryngologists and family doctors and pediatricians. Special attention was focused to problem in diagnostics and to urgent situations in the head and neck region, and malignancies in this region can be a causative factor. There were more than 100 family doctors, pediatricians and otorhinolaryngologists who attended the meeting. A book of lectures was also published.

COBISS.SI-ID: 271574272Melanoma School is a professional meeting organized by the Institute of Oncology and Chair of Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine in Ljubljana. In the year 2014, the 10th successive meeting was organized. The Melanoma School comprehensively deals with diagnostics of melanoma, therapy and rehabilitation of patients with this disease. The target population is family doctors, dermatologists and surgeons. In the year 2014, the program of School was renewed with the content of lectures published in form of articles in professional journal Onkologija. More than 80 attendees from different places of Slovenia attended the meeting. Member of the research program (P.Strojan) is one of the organizers of the School and a lecturer.

The organizers are CECOG – the Central European Cooperative Oncology Group, MUVI – the Medical University Vienna International and »Prof. Dr. Alexandrou Trestioreanu« Oncological Institute from Bucharest. The summer school aims at presenting modern management of the most frequent cancer types through state of the art lectures of well recognized international experts and clinical case discussions in the multidisciplinary environment. School is dedicated to doctors in residency programs and young specialists from different fields of oncology.
