COBISS.SI-ID: 287424512BcChart software enables bioclimatic potential analysis of a given location based on the application of Olgyay’s bioclimatic chart. The software is intended for the early stages of the design process. During this stage decisions regarding the selection of passive solar strategies must be taken in order to incorporate them into the building design. BcChart is a tool that enables designers to identify the most promising passive solutions. Bioclimatic evaluation is the starting point for any architectural design aiming at environmental climate balance. The bioclimatic chart shows the comfort zone in the centre of the plot area. The bioclimatic elements around it indicate the nature of corrective measures necessary to restore the feeling of comfort at any point outside the comfort zone. Any climatic condition determined by its dry-bulb air temperature and relative humidity can be plotted on the chart. If the plotted point falls into the comfort zone, we feel comfortable in shade. If the point falls outside the comfort zone, corrective measures are needed. A majority of these measures may be achieved by natural means, that is, by adapting architectural design to utilize the climatic elements. Other problems, which fall outside the natural possibilities, will have to be remedied by mechanical means, such as air conditioning (heating, cooling, dehumidification). The software was evaluated through the pedagogical process on the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering as well as on the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ljubljana.

COBISS.SI-ID: 7656289The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft DFG offers the Mercator Programme to enable Germany's research universities to invite highly qualified scientists and academics working abroad to complete a DFGfunded stay at their institutes. Prof. dr. Jože Korelc has received Mercator Visiting Professorship for the period of 2015-2019 at an Institut für Kontinuumsmechanik, Leibniz Universität Hannover for his scientific work on a field of automatization of numerical modeling. Prof. Korelc has in year 2016 given a 10-hour course on Advanced topics in automation of numerical modelling at Leibniz University of Hannover for postgraduyte students.

COBISS.SI-ID: 8001889Energy saving, environmental protection challenges, evaluation of the thermal performance of buildings, including the exceptions that apply to the renovation of buildings of cultural heritage were presented. Special emphasis was devoted to the importance and use of energy certificates (Energy Pass) for the needs of real estate transactions (sale or lease). Execution of lectures for the purpose of supplementary training for real estate brokers.
