COBISS.SI-ID: 18875670This work is focused on the porosity parameters modelling of needle-punched nonwoven webs, made from the mixture of viscose and polyester fibres. Predictive models of average pore diameter, volume porosity, pore volume, and pore surface area were developed on the basis of the fundamental constructional parameters of needle-punched webs (fibre fineness, web mass, web thickness), mercury intrusion porosimetry and genetic algorithms. Porosity parameters, calculated upon the predictive models, are in a good agreement with the experimental values and can serve as guidelines by developing a new web construction with desired porosity parameters.
