COBISS.SI-ID: 87182081We developed an intelligent information system that automates the process of understanding, storing and analysing web content. This intelligent system monitors online news sources on the given topic and, with the help of machine learning, picks the relevant and important news on the predetermined theme. With the help of intelligent natural language processing techniques, the system then analyses these news articles and extracts the desired information from them - entities such as location, time, person, and the sum of money and other. This information is then stored in the database in such a form that is suitable for further analysis and processing.
F.15 Development of a new information system/databases
We have defined, renewed and introduced novel software and hardware development processes to the companies Iskratel, RC IKT and RC IKTS. We performed it based on our research in the area of adopting and measuring agile and iterative processes and with enterprise specifics in mind. Our guidelines were several: a) We base novel development processes on existing processes used on a daily basis; b) Known limitations from existing processes and c) Goals that we wanted to fulfil with introducing a novel process. Processes were defined, validated and tested in practice inside these enterprises. After altering and re-validating, the enterprises put new processes into production use. Their new, agile and iterative processes give enterprises several new opportunities: Involving developers in the process of effort estimation, better cooperation with quality assurance teams, continuous progress assessment, active involving remote teams and others.
F.04 Increase of the technological level
In 2016, members of the Research Programme were involved as the Supervisor or Co-Supervisor of numerous PhD theses, MSc theses, as well as first and second level Bologna Degree theses, and Supervisor of pre-Bologna Study Programmes` theses. It has to be highlighted that our members were supervising 7 PhD theses, 7 MSc theses. Additionally, the members of the Research Programme were Supervisors of 112 diploma theses of pre-Bologna Undergraduate Study Programmes and, at the same time, Supervisors of 30 second level Bologna Master theses, and 45 first level Bologna Diploma theses. Furthermore, we were also Co-Supervisors in numerous theses on both the post-graduate and undergraduate level.
D.10 Educational activities
COBISS.SI-ID: 19779094We have been participating in the IQDOM project (leading partner: Gorenje gospodinjski aparati d. d.), whose main objective is to develop technological inter-connected solutions that will enable “a new generation intelligent home based on smart devices and wood”. We participate in the IQDOM project with the package RRP21 “Advanced management and interaction in a smart home - iSmartManagement” and RRP21 “Cloud platform for advanced intuitive operation of the smart home - iHome”. The project will develop a series of technologies with global impact, where focus will be on the system connectivity and the use of artificial intelligence for home management. A significant transfer of knowledge from public organizations into economy is also expected. We also cooperate in the EkoSMART project (leading partner: MARAND d. o. o.); whose purpose is to develop a smart city ecosystem. Within a project we are involved in a package RRP1 titled "Smart city ecosystem design", where we are responsible for establishing the methodological framework, identification of sectoral value chains and common platform design, which will enable easy access to data and smart city services.
