The main objective of this study was to reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and dye concentration influent containing acid dye using sequencing batch reactor (SBR) system for the biological treatment. As some of the contaminants within the textile wastewater could be non - or hardly biodegradable, the membrane filtration of effluent from SBR was performed by ultrafiltration membrane. The efficiency of the biological treatment for COD and colour removal was 91.09% and 84.79% respectively, at the stage of the study when SBR operated optimally and 73.57 and 71.80% on average. After ultrafiltration the efficiency for COD and colour removal increased in average for 32.01% and 61.80%, respectively. The following bacterial strains were identified in activated sludge from this process: Klebsiella oxytoca, Morganella sp., Elizabethkingia sp., Comamonas testosteroni, Serratia marcescens and other species of the genus Serratia. The contribution of each bacterial species during decolourization and degradation of acid dye needs further study.

COBISS.SI-ID: 18155286β-In2S3 nanoparticles were prepared via sonochemical route, using diverse indium precursors. A direct immersion ultrasonic probe and a conventional ultrasonic cleaning bath were used as ultrasound source. It was found that indium(III) nitrate hydrate as indium precursor and ultrasonic probe as ultrasound source give the more promising results.
