Andreja Kutnar is a leader and coordinator of H2020 Teaming project "Renewable materials and healthy environments research and innovation centre of excellence (InnoRenew CoE)". The objective of the project is to establish a Center of Excellence for research, development and innovation in the field of renewable materials and research of healthy living environment and with its operation enable the breakthrough of Slovenia on the leading positions in Europe in the field of sustainable built environment. The InnoRenew CoE will be developing new, smart, sustainable and contemporary living environments suitable for all generations.

Andreja Kutnar is a chair of a new COST Action FP1407: Understanding wood modification through an integrated scientific and environmental impact approach (ModWoodLife), in which she is coordinating members of the Action from 31 countries (24 so called COST countries, USA, Canada, Chile, New Zealand, Albania, Tunisia and Ukraine).

Andreja Kutnar gave an invited lecture at Forest Products Laboratory, Madison, USA, in which she presented national and international projects and research performed at University of Primorska, which include: thermo hydro mechanical treatment of wood, cascade use of wood, life cycle assessment of paper mills and restorative environmental design.

Andreja Kutnar received in 2015 recognition "Prometheus Science for communication excellence", which is annually awarded by Slovenian Science Foundation (SSF).
