The project leader Metka Kuhar presented in March 2016 the key findings of the first research phase to approx. 15 officials of the Directorate of Family of the Ministry for Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. She presented the extent of deliberativeness in the different parliamentary bodies and stages of the examination of the Family Code in the period 2008-2011; as well as the extent to which deliberativeness was actualised by the discussants (in terms of their gender, political affiliation etc.). In the second part of the meeting Metka Kuhar, together with the member of the research group Marjeta Novak contributed some additional starting points for a joint reflection on how to foster a deliberative public debate on this issue and in general, how to ensure maximum deliberativeness of public discussions.

Katja Jeznik presented the results of the project at the conference organized by the Education Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, which is one of the key stakeholders in the field of regulating the issue of disciplinary measures in Slovenia. The symposium brought together more than a hundred teachers and principals, as well as representatives of key institutions in the field of education, and thus represented an important channel for the presentation of the project results.
B.04 Guest lecture
COBISS.SI-ID: 34487645Prof. dr. Metka Kuhar, in cooperation with the Slovenian association of pedagogues organised a symposium Educational and disciplinary strategies of primary school teachers, where she presented the results of the project and analysis of concrete proposals for change formed by teachers in the context of (research) discussions. The symposium was attended by more than 20 principals, counselors and teachers from the participating primary schools, and the other actors in the field of education. Participants discussed the findings of the investigation and contributed to the development of the final findings.

Metka Kuhar, together with the Association of Facilitators Slovenia organized a symposium on dialogue and deliberation as approaches supporting multi-stakeholders’ solving of complex societal challenges, which brought together around 40 theoreticians and practitioners of dialogic communication, deliberative and other participatory approaches, representatives of scientific circles, political institutions and economic and NGOs, and enabled a productive mutual exchanges and mutual learning.
