COBISS.SI-ID: 36169005Ivan Kramberger worked as a chimney sweep before moving to Germany, where he succeeded in patenting technologies for dialysis, which made him a fortune. After returning to Slovenia, he shared a good portion of his earnings with poor people, for which he became known as the Benefactor of Negova. His success at the elections – he won almost one fifth of all votes – was a surprise. In 1992, Kramberger announced that he would enter parliamentary elections with his own political party. That same year, he was shot to death during a political speech. The motive of the assassination was never clarified.
