COBISS.SI-ID: 1543053At least at the beginning of their exile, Russian emigrants did not get fully involved in the new environment, but were merely on standby, waiting for the possible departure. In such circumstances, the mission of Russian emigration transcended the mere effort of physical survival. This mission represented the protecting of the values and tradition of Russian culture and investing creative effort in favor of the spiritual progress of the homeland. The paper discusses this aspect by presenting images of life of the Russian emigration as presented in one of the leading Slovenian newspapers of the time, Jutro (1921–1929).
