Modernisation processes marked the First World War; hence the war differed so radically from all other conflicts. The same was true of the revolution, which marked its end – especially in the East of Europe. Modernisation led to a greater role of military planning that at the same time represented a great opportunity for the success of the revolutionary forces, which objected the existing structure of relations. Their assertion in Russia was connected to the totalisation of war.

COBISS.SI-ID: 36263213This article is addressing the issue of the famous unfinished poem entitled »Poem without Hero«, in which the poetess is thematizing events from the start and the middle of 20th century. The insight into author's manuscript archive is given and the possibility of interpreting the poem as the »Poem of the Year 1913« is suggested. This was also the initial title of the poem and at the same time the dating of conceptual design of this work – in author's opinion – perhaps even the most significant work in her poetic opus.

COBISS.SI-ID: 36263469The lecture course encompasses the critical overview of the revolutions stretching from the English revolution of 1688 to the Yugoslav revolution during the Second World War. It especially focuses on the meaning of the French revolution for the 18th century and the impact of the Russian revolution in the 20th, both of which have been understood as a model for the subsequent revolutions. They both spread its influence through promotion of their own principles and through mass migration that they caused.
