The most eminent Slovenian theatre festival, Borštnikovo srečanje, hosted an international conference to discuss the issues pertaining the recording, documenting and archiving of performance practices. Professionals working in the field of various archiving practices and museum studies presented their working practices in theatre archives, institutes and museums. Special attention was paid to problems they face on a daily basis. They exchanged their experience on the digitalization of databases and presented the ways and possibilities for their use in research, teaching and promotion.

The New Slovenian Biographical Lexicon presents the most prominent Slovenian and Slovenia-related historical and contemporary figures. Darja Koter, Ph.D, a member of the research group, contributed lexical entries offering comprehensive descriptions of personalities in the field of music in Volume One (surnames beginning with A). These entries are also accessible on-line at the Slovenian Biography web portal of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

COBISS.SI-ID: 36499501The 46th Congress of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) addressed the issues concerning relationships between dominant and marginal cultures, the impact of dominant cultures upon the evaluation of artistic creations in local regions, and how this has influenced the concept of art history during the last few decades. The invited lecture by Nadja Zgonik presented Slovenian art monuments as examples of hybrid culture, in which artistic production is marked by a specific geopolitical location, varying cultural influences and their shifting definitions of their artistic merit.

B.04 Guest lecture
COBISS.SI-ID: 2352775The exhibition by the artist Gašper Jemec entitled Two Thousand Thirteen (Velenje Gallery, 14 March–6 April 2013) was a multimedia-oriented event exploring the possibilities of deconstructing the artwork as an object. It highlighted Jemec’s new installation, consisting of various waste items and materials discarded during the manufacturing processes of Gorenje Group Company in Velenje.
