The bilingual monograph represents a comprehensive publication of the analyses carried out on the two oldest artillery pieces preserved in the Slovenian museums. Both had been examined by using various, predominantly non-destructive, analytical methods, which revealed the internal construction of the gun barrels. In regard to the detail and scope of the research the monograph ranks among the major recent original contributions to the history of early artillery. The work includes an extensive study of the role of gunpowder weapons in the Slovenian lands at the end of the medieval period, including a treatment of hitherto unknown, yet highly valuable primary sources.

Permission for setting up the printing house was the prerogative of the state administration, which also granted a license for the manufacture of the printing type. Although women were clearly unable to meet all of these requirements they worked as heads of bookshops and printing houses. This was due to the fact that after a printer died his legal heirs, generally his widow , inherited the company with all its concessions. In this paper we discuss women related to Slovene books and books printed in Slovenia from 16th to 19th Century.

The denarii of Mark Antony minted in the years 32–31 BC are among the most common coins from the Late Republican period. They are most often called legionary coins, which are related to the belief that they were minted for the army. It is even believed that for the rapid payment of soldiers each legion had its own travelling mint. The denarii of Mark Antony contain less silver than other contemporary denarii, and very frequently so-called punch-marks appear on them. The author establishes the role of these coins in the monetary circulation of the Late Republican period, and investigates the claim that they continued to be used to the middle of the 2nd century or even further.
