COBISS.SI-ID: 23805442Members of the programme group transferre their research findings most directly and permanently to the younger geographers through the preparation of high-quality university textbooks. The main goal of »Cultural geography«, a university textbook, is to enlarge the understanding of broadness and complexity of recent world population, by following the principle from global to local context, i.e. from civilizations trough religious-, linguistic- and ethnic phenomenon to national (state)-organizations and finally to social stratification. Contemporary cultural landscapes are the cumulated results of these social coherences trough times, and, by the same time, represent the common circumstances of today’s societies: their spatial capital. In order to understand the recent social development potentials, it’s necessary to know their genesis, structure, functionalization and co-dependency on global and local level. When thinking about the realization of sustainable development of Slovenia, there is of a crucial importance to recognize the cultural landscape potentials (or spatial potentials) as well as to understand their social (human) potentials. The book is enabling the comprehension of world’s cultural diversity and Slovene position inside; all in order to input some good practices into Slovenian scene.
