The first grammar of Prekmurje language (Avgust Pavel: Vend nyelvtan). It was translated by Marija Bajzek. Jesenšek has edited the grammar in a way that on the left side pages there is a copy of typed text in Hungarian language, and on the right side the translation into the Slovene language; he also edited and harmonized Slovene grammar terminology and at the end of monograph added five discussions on Pavel and Prekmurje language. Grammar is of a great importance for recognition of Prekmurje language as (it used to be) literary, for researchers from all over the world and for preservation of the Slovene language and culture in Porabje. With this edition the Prekmurje literary language of the 18th and 19th century gained recognition (norm and regulation) in the only one/the first published grammar – together with Košič’s and Kardoš’s grammars i.e. language manuals of the Hungarian language.

COBISS.SI-ID: 19897352Anja Benko's doctoral thesis titled Theoretical Model for Establishing a Technical Dialectal Picture dictionary (based on the Carinthian Podjuna Dialect) is an important academic and social contribution as it studies the theory as well as practice of composing dialectal dictionaries and it is likewise of great importance for dialectal and linguistic sciences. Benko’s contribution is relevant especially from the theoretical point of view as it introduces traditional principles of German dialectal lexicography when analyzing lexis in the Slovenian language territory. Taking into consideration these principles (i.e. theoretical background) and lexicographic tradition until now, Benko composed a comparative dialectal technical (picture) dictionary model, which can serve as the paradigm to compose other, similar regional (i.e. geographically limited) dictionaries as well as an all-Slovenian dialectal dictionary for a particular technical field. The author is the first in Slovenia to have taken advantage of technical possibilities on hand and upgraded the data culled in her doctoral thesis with visual, audio- and video-materials and presented this idea in the form of an interactive web dictionary of the Carinthian Podjuna dialect on her website (http://www.narecna-bera.si).
